Water Festival (Kataklysmos)

The Water Festival in Ayia Napa and Protaras is a traditional Cypriot festival that is celebrated every year on the 50th day after Easter. It is also known as Kataklysmos, which means “flood” in Greek.

The festival commemorates the biblical story of Noah’s Ark and the Great Flood. It is also a celebration of spring and the new beginning that it represents.
